Etwas kommt mir bekannt vor

A night bus

On the night bus across Europe’s borders. Strangers—people whose thoughts move through the space—a multilingual, polyphonic condensation of stories, fears, emotions, questions, dreams, and memories. As scattered lights flicker past the windows, unrest stirs inside: a police check. Passports are demanded, people questioned, data collected. A father tries to calm his child, answering his insistent questions. A song is hummed, someone cries, fragments of conversation about love, a growing sense of threat. Two people are prevented from continuing their journey. Brief messages make their way to the outside world, spreading across social media platforms. What remains—a pair of sneakers.

The audience steps into a dimly lit bus—and into a world of its own. They can take a seat again and again, immersing themselves in biographical worlds through QR codes and headphones. The intimacy of the technology enables an immersive listening experience, placing identification and identity of the passengers at the center.
